Electrical Repair in White Settlement

When an outlet goes dead or a breaker won't stay on, you want to know why before anyone starts replacing parts. We test, find the actual cause, show you what we found and explain your repair options in everyday language.

Finding the Fault Before Fixing It

Most electrical problems in a home come down to a handful of causes: a loose connection, a worn device, an overloaded circuit or damaged wire. The symptom you notice, like a flickering light or a dead kitchen outlet, is often a room or two away from the spot that failed. That is why we start with testing instead of guessing.

Once we know what is wrong, we tell you what it means in plain terms. You will hear what failed, why it likely failed and whether a simple repair will hold or a bigger fix makes more sense. Our work is done under a Master Electrical License, and we have spent 5 years in business answering exactly these kinds of calls for homeowners.

What Our Electrical Repair Covers

Tripping breakers
We check whether the breaker is doing its job on an overloaded circuit, reacting to a short or simply worn out. Each of those has a different fix, and we tell you which one you have.
Dead outlets and switches
A dead outlet is often caused by a tripped GFCI upstream or a loose backstabbed wire. We trace the circuit, find the failed connection and replace the device if it is worn.
Flickering or dimming lights
We sort out whether it is the bulb, the fixture, a loose neutral or a problem on the service side. A loose neutral can affect several rooms at once, so we test until we find it.
Warm or discolored plates
Heat at a switch or outlet usually points to a poor connection or a device carrying more load than it should. We open it up, repair the connection and check the wire for heat damage.
GFCI and AFCI problems
These safety devices trip for a reason, but they also fail with age. We test them, look for the moisture or wiring fault behind nuisance trips and replace units that no longer work.
Outdoor circuits
Exterior outlets, porch lights and yard circuits take a beating from Texas heat and storms. We repair weathered boxes, failed covers and corroded connections outside your home.

Signs Your Home Needs an Electrical Repair

  • A breaker trips again and again

One trip during a heat wave with every appliance running can be normal. A breaker that trips repeatedly, or right after you reset it, is telling you something is wrong on that circuit.

  • Buzzing or crackling sounds

Outlets, switches and panels should be silent. A buzz or crackle often means arcing at a loose connection, which creates heat.

  • A burning or hot plastic smell

If you smell something hot near an outlet or panel, turn off that circuit at the breaker and leave it off until it is checked.

  • Lights dim when appliances start

A brief dip when the AC kicks on can be minor. Lights that dim sharply or stay dim suggest a loose connection or a circuit carrying too much.

  • Outlets that feel loose

Plugs that fall out or wiggle mean the contacts inside the outlet are worn. Worn contacts heat up, so the outlet should be replaced.

What Affects the Cost of an Electrical Repair

Repair pricing depends mostly on how long the fault takes to find and what it takes to fix. You get the price of the repair before we start, so you are deciding with the full picture.

How hard the fault is to find

A failed outlet is quick. An intermittent problem that comes and goes takes more testing time to pin down.

Access to the wiring

Wiring behind finished walls, in a hot attic or under a slab takes longer to reach than a box you can open in a minute.

Parts needed

A standard outlet costs far less than a GFCI, AFCI breaker or replacement fixture. We tell you which parts the repair calls for and why.

What we find behind the cover

Sometimes one burned connection reveals heat-damaged wire that also needs replacing. If the scope changes, we stop and talk with you before going further.

Whether a permit is needed

Simple device repairs usually do not need one. Larger repairs are permitted and inspected as required by the local jurisdiction, and that adds to the cost.

How a Repair Visit Works

  1. 1

You tell us what is happening

When you phone, we ask what you noticed, where and when it started. That helps us arrive with the right parts and a starting point.

  2. 2

    We test and trace

We use meters and testers to follow the circuit from the symptom back to the fault. We do not start swapping parts until we know what failed.

  3. 3

    We show you your options

You see what we found, often with the cover off or a photo of the damage. We walk you through what a repair involves and what a replacement involves, and give you the price before work begins.

  4. 4

    We repair and retest

Once you approve, we make the repair, test the circuit under load and confirm everything works. We clean up and point out anything else worth keeping an eye on.

Electrical Repair Questions

Why does my breaker keep tripping?

The three usual causes are too much load on the circuit, a short somewhere in the wiring or a breaker that has worn out. Running a space heater and a hair dryer on one bedroom circuit is a common example of overload. We test to find out which cause you have, because resetting it over and over does not solve anything.

Is a flickering light dangerous?

A loose bulb is harmless. Flickering across several rooms, or flickering with a buzzing sound, can point to a loose connection that generates heat. If it is more than one fixture, have it checked.

Can you fix it, or will I need a whole new panel?

Most repairs are just repairs: a connection, a device or a breaker. If we find the panel itself is the problem, we tell you why and what your choices are, including our panel upgrades service. We never push a bigger job when a repair will hold.

Are you licensed to do this work?

Yes. Our electrical work is performed under a Master Electrical License, and we have been in business for 5 years.

Should I turn anything off before you arrive?

If a circuit smells hot, buzzes or a breaker will not stay on, leave that breaker off. Otherwise, leave things as they are so we can see the problem happen during testing.
